The M.T. Abraham Center for the Visual Arts considers written loan requests from accredited institutions and museums, as well as from those whose staff and facilities are similarly qualified.
The borrowing institution is required to return any item in the same condition as it was when borrowed, and to bear all costs for packing, transportation, handling, and insuring the artworks to their full market replacement value. This includes the period when the works are in transit to and from all venues, and also covers the duration of the exhibition of the works.
Requests are considered on an individual basis and at the discretion of The M.T. Abraham Center for the Visual Arts. Lending approval is based upon the relevance of the artworks to the content of the exhibition, prior loan commitments of the requested artworks, fragility of the artwork, and the Center's goal of exhibiting to the widest audience. As every request is judged on its own merit, there are other terms and conditions to be applied which will be discussed upon contact with the Center.
The M.T. Abraham Center for the Visual Arts gives preferred consideration to lending one work or a small group of works to augment major one-person or thematic exhibitions that have a tour schedule of several venues. Occasionally a long-term loan of one or two art works to individual institutions may be considered. The Center will facilitate exhibitions that are drawn entirely from its collection but organized by the staff of the borrowing institution only in select situations.
The Center's photographic archives include transparencies, slides, and digital images of nearly all works, enabling us to supply visual materials to potential borrowing institutions.
